Craig P. Stevens - Perfection of the Seat 1
and Perfection of the Seat 2

Perfection of the Seat 1 - $29.95

A relaxed seat that follows the movements of the horse is essential to any style of riding. This 28 minute program, the second in the Classical Equitation series, gives the rider relaxation and balance exercises that will help develop a more balanced seat, and thereby improve any style of riding.

Perfection of the Seat 2 - $29.95

Following the first of the seat programs, this 40 minute program develops the work in balance and relaxation at faster paces. It is the third in the Classical Equitation series.

About Mr. Craig P. Stevens

Trained in the French classical school of equitation, Craig Stevens studied with such master horsemen as Joao Oliveira of Portugal, the French masters Michel Henriquet and Francois Lemaire de Ruffieu, several members of the Cadre Noir, as well as with Katherine Durand. He has judged shows and taught clinics around the world. Craig performs exhibitions of High School dressage, including the airs above the ground and movements of fantasy equitation.

Craig Stevens has worked with all levels of riders and horses. He trains horses of many breeds through and beyond Grand Prix level in dressage as well as to advanced levels in hunt seat equitation and eventing. Craig does not show anymore himself, but his students and the horses he's trained routinely place in championships on three continents.

Mr. Stevens has translated 33 books from French to English, including "Training the Cross Country Horse" by 19th century French riding master Faverot de Kerbrech and "Equestrian Questions" by General L'Hotte, which were previously unavailable to the English speaking audience. He continues to study and explore equitation, and remains a lifelong student of history, philosophy and psychology, finding that each contributes to his understanding of the relationship of rider and horse. It's not unusual to hear him explain an equine movement in musical terms, or the horse-human relationship in romantic ones. Craig is both educated and eclectic in his approach, and he is always learning from his riding and teaching and from his academic pursuits as well.
